We are Chris and Louise Elkington, husband and wife team from Gelston Lamb. We run 450 breeding ewes at Gelston near Grantham and have 2 young shepherdesses Imogen and Eleanor who love to help out on the farm. Our mission is to get the nation to Eat Better Meat. We produce restaurant-quality lamb combined with unrivalled quality and outstanding flavour. It is a priority to us for our customers to know the meat provenance and that it is sustainably farmed using practices that work in harmony with the environment.
Our lamb is born and raised on our farm here in the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside. It is slow grown and grass-fed to produce an ethically reared meat that is sweet in flavour and tender. All our lambs go to our local abattoir which is only 6 miles away and then are hung for 7-10 days in our on-farm butchery chiller. Everything is then butchered and packed by ourselves and our staff to your specification here on the farm. All of this means we can keep food miles to a minimum which is best for our lamb, our customers and the environment.
We then deliver your order ourselves locally or nationwide using DPD next day courier service.
Orders sent via courier are packed with ice packs and Woolcool insulation which is such a fantastic environmentally friendly product and keeps everything cool for up to 72 hours.
